Possessing a nursing home administrator's license, Joann P. Vuolo, R.N., holds to a strong philosophy of excellence. As a registered nurse of 30 plus years in long term care at Whitney Manor, she upholds her commitment to quality care by directing the complete continuum of services provided to sub-acute patients and long term care residents.

Under the Direction of Joseph Brenes, MD, Whitney Manor Medical Director, patients are assured the professional care needed to recuperate and return to home life. Dr. Brenes has been in practice for 28 years and is a Sub-acute Care Attending Physician at Griffin Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital and Waterbury Hospital. He is a Certified Medical Director, member of American Medical Directors Association, New Haven County Medical Association, CT State Medical Association and the American Geriatric Society.

Janet Shahen, RN MBA, maintains an ongoing commitment to providing excellent service, while adhering to regulatory policy and procedure. Her direction in management renders a continuum of quality care to all patients. Her strong vision and experience is anchored in accomplishment through a devoted, focused team.
